Hint fiction.

It’s defined as a story of 25 words or less that suggests a larger, more complex story. There will be, if all goes well, an anthology of these released in late 2010 and I’ve already written five potential submissions (I should be allowed three. getting the third by virtue of publishing this post;  two is the normal limit) to choose from and probably will come up with more.

If this sort of thing is the sort of thing you like, you can check out the rules for submitting here.

  1. Hm… Sounds interesting but somewhat difficult to achieve, 25 is such a small number… I’ll have to look into this!

  2. In a couple of instances, I took short stories already in the hopper and pared them down to the basics. One worked, the other didn’t. Although I did get both down to 25 words, the second one wasn’t as good as a couple I came up with out of whole cloth. It’s good fun and an excellent exercise is making every word count and getting rid all the excess ones.
