The forgotten man.


None of what happened today would have been possible without Lyndon Baines Johnson.

If your knowledge of LBJ is limited to Vietnam or you are too young to have any knowledge at all, here’s why.

The much maligned Johnson  is one of the great heroes of the Civil Rights Revolution, a tragic figure eventually brought down by his own hubris. And a master politician; note at that link how clearly he understood how the passing of  the Voting Rights Act of 1965 would change the political lay of the land and hamstring the Democrats for decades to come.
